I believe that you can achieve these things by building your horses confidence instead of using fear or force.
To me there is no better feeling than when it all just clicks for the horse I'm training or the rider I'm coaching.

THE DAY I FOUND OUT YOU COULD TRAIN HORSES AS A JOB, IT WAS ALL OVER FOR ME.
I was twelve years old by the way...
Every single school holidays I packed up my little young chestnut mare and took her out to work for Emma Flavelle-Watts in exchange for lessons until suddenly that mare was training medium and I was off to Germany to start a working student position in a stallion barn four days after my eighteenth birthday.
Germany was a whirlwind: from riding young stallions at Hengststation Jens Meyer to training my new young mare at competitions under the tutorship of national under 25 team coach of the time Sebastian Langehanenberg [Heinze].
After just over two years in Germany I made the decision to return home to the Sunshine Coast QLD, Australia where I resumed working for Emma as a rider in the mornings and taking on my own clients for training coaching in the afternoons.
It was at this time I discovered my love of coaching.
In late 2019 my partner and I relocated to the Southern Highlands, NSW for his work. By the beginning of 2020 I was working for Matthew Dowsley in the mornings and had officially opened the doors to my coaching and training business BC Performance Horses.
From Matthew I gained new perspective on my difficult mare and it was reiterated to me exactly how fundemental the correct establishment of basic training is to every single horse.
I began to realise that absolutely every aspect of training can be improved by working on the foundations.
This idea, though it was something I always knew and trained with my horses, became the centrefold of my training, coaching & what I built my online programs around.
When you understand all the foundational elements then producing high quality work through the levels becomes simple.
IT HASN'T ALWAYS BEEN EASY...
Even though I have ridden my whole life, with a focus on dressage the way forward hasn’t always been clear for me.
At the end of the day, there was a foundational training element that wasn’t clicking for me at the root of every single horsey struggle I have ever had.
Clarity came for me when I understood that there is always a reason why with horses.
There’s always a reason why they behave in a certain way or aren’t getting a certain thing.
& it almost always comes back to the foundations.
